Madden released its 2023 running backs ratings on Wednesday. Jonathan Taylor isn’t where you’d probably expect.
Madden ranked Taylor fourth, behind Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb and Christian McCaffrey.
Taylor led the league in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, rushes for more than 20 yards and more than 40 yards last season. Chubb was second in yards and rushes for 20+ and 40+ yards. Henry’s numbers don’t line up due to an injury that limited him to eight games (as a point of comparison, he rushed for 117.1 yards per game while Taylor rushed for 106.5 per game, which also led the league).

The Colts also had a beef with Darius Leonard‘s rating (90), which ranked 13th among edge rushers.
Michael Pittman Jr. is the team’s highest-rated wide receiver (83). Parris Campbell is next (75).
Madden is releasing ratings bit by bit. Cornerbacks and D-Line ratings come out on Thursday. Quarterback ratings come out Friday. If you’re trying to play the guessing game about how Matt Ryan will fare, he was rated an 83 at the end of last season (13th among QBs).
Twitter was mad about Taylor’s ranking.
